Pregnancy is a unique and meaningful period in a woman’s life where she experiences a range of changes and emotions in a relatively short period of time. Yoga is often recommended for pregnant women because it can help with relaxation as well as aches and pains that come with pregnancy. Yoga class is also a space where a woman finds support and community during this new phase in her life. The mindfulness encouraged in yoga allows pregnant women to tune-in to their bodies and embrace the changes they experience throughout pregnancy and motherhood.
When women feel supported and empowered, all of society benefits. Yoga can help set the stage for a positive birth experience thus helping create a more peaceful and compassionate world.
